The Preserving, Presenting, and Promoting the Legacy of African American Music in Buffalo Since 1917 lecture will provide an in-depth look at the history of the Colored Musicians Club and Local 533 during the Jazz Age and beyond.

For our February Sunday Night Jazz Series, the Colored Musicians Club is excited to welcome Jay/Sharptet featuring Jacob Jay (Trumpet), Dalton Sharp (Sax, Vocals), Nate Kalnitz (Bass) and Abdul-Rahman Qadir (Drums).

The Jay/Sharptet enjoys performing music with a focus on original compositions and arrangements. Inspired by ensembles such as the great Miles Davis Quintets they strive to approach every tune with a unique interpretation.
